![]() ![]() What really killed any and all interest I had was how rapey it was being with MJ. so that didn't really even leave that big of an impact on the character. Unfortunately it got walked back almost right away by the time we got around to the Spider-verse crossover. I will give it credit where it's due, the entire story being all about Otto's own failings in the idea of what it means to be a hero, admitting Peter IS the Superior one? That's good stuff, on paper. Especially long time fans of Otto, getting to see him take the spotlight. While I greatly disliked the idea myself, I can see the appeal for fans. New York needs its real heroWas that what Aaron was going for. If, say, Jane Foster's time as Thor showed Thor Odinson what he can do to step up, then Otto's time as Spidey showed Peter that he had been doing great, and that his absence is sorely felt. And he is! Cause end of the day he's a mook compared to Peter. Unless you're paying attention, you know Otto's in for a reckoning. Superior may have finished, but he's messed things up enough that Peter's still walking over broken glassĤ) Otto's burning bridges from day 1. A truly wild, endearingly awful protag.Ģ) His personal philosophy of mememe is totally incongruent with the great power\great responsibility rap, and that makes for great drama!ģ) He tackles familiar situations in wild, completely different ways from Peter. He tries! He genuinely does, in his stupid way. Superior is beloved-and rightly so, as it rips-for a number of reasonsġ) Otto's a prick, but also a genius, but also an idiot, but also a.romantic? He's delightful to follow around. ![]()
